Total Fire Ban - Dust Update

ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) advise the community that the haze seen across Canberra is not smoke. Currently, there are no active grass or bush fires in the ACT.

Total Fire Ban - Thursday, 21 November 2019

ACT Emergency Services Agency Commissioner Georgeina Whelan has declared a Total Fire Ban for the whole of the ACT under Section 114 of the Emergencies Act 2004 from midnight Wednesday, 20 November

Update: Structure fire - Curtin

ACT Fire & Rescue have extinguished the structure fire on McCormack Street, Curtin. No injuries were reported.

UPDATE: House Fire - Gowrie

The house fire at Denehy Place, Gowrie is now completely out.

Due to the fast fire attack by ACT Fire & Rescue there was only limited fire and smoke damage to the structure.

At approximately 930am this morning, ACT Fire and Rescue (ACTF&R) and ACT Ambulance Service (ACTAS) attended a unit fire in Denehy Place, Gowrie.
