Update - Structure Fire - Geelong Street, Fyshwick

ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a fire at an electric scooter battery storage facility in Fyshwick. 

Firefighters will continue to monitor the batteries overnight to ensure there is no residual heat. 

There remains no current threat to surrounding tenancies, nor have any of the surrounding buildings sustained damage.

Geelong Street remains closed and the community is asked to avoid the area.

ACT Fire & Rescue crews are working to contain a fire at an electric scooter battery storage facility in Fyshwick. 

 

ACT Policing are on scene and assisting with clearing any occupied buildings as a precaution in the area. 

 

There is a road closure in place along Geelong Street approximately 400 metres from the entrance off Canberra Avenue.

 

The community is asked to avoid the area.
