ACT Emergency Services Agency crews from the State Emergency Service, Fire & Rescue and Rural Fire Service are working hard with more than 130 requests for assistance, mainly through the central and northern areas of the Territory.
Earlier storms saw heavy rainfall and strong, gusty winds move through the area bringing down a large number of trees on roads and homes.
Evo Energy are reporting a number of areas are currently without power, including; Acton, Ainslie, Aranda, Belconnen, Latham, Chapman, Cook, Coppins Crossing, Denman Prospect, Dickson, Florey, Fisher, Fraser, McKellar, Page, Stirling, Uriarra and Weetangera. The Bureau of Meteorology have advised there is no further forecast for winds or storms overnight – just light showers, however we are likely experience gusty conditions over the weekend.
