Afternoon storms impact the ACT

Early afternoon storms have impacted a number of areas across the ACT, predominately in the north. Heavy rainfall has led to the ACT State Emergency Service receiving more than 20 Requests For Assistance (RFAs).

The calls have mainly been to leaking roofs, flooding and fallen trees.

More weather systems are forecast to impact the ACT throughout the evening, however more likely on Friday. The Bureau of Meteorology are forecasting between 15mm and 40mm of rain throughout the day.

With the La Nina in full swing, this is a timely reminder to make sure you and you home are prepared for the severe weather season by being emergency ready.
