Storm and Flood Assistance
[media-alert type="image" id=29475][media-alert type="image" id=29476]ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) have responded to a fire at a coffee roasters on Whyalla Street in Fyshwick at approximately 8am this morning. The fire was contained to a roasting oven after a fire extinguisher was used on it. The two storey building was evacuated, nobody was injured and no structural damage occurred to the property.
ACTF&R responded with three pumpers, aerial appliance, breathing apparatus vehicle, hazmat unit and commander. They are currently doing atmospheric monitoring to ensure the building is safe to return to. Parts of Whyalla Street are closed at this time.
