ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) have attended a fire at a unit complex on Hyndes Crescent, Holder. The fire was caused by an electric blanket and was contained to the room of origin. ACTF&R responded with three pumpers, breathing apparatus unit, hazmat unit, aerial appliance and a commander.
The residents of the apartment self-evacuated after calling 000. ACTF&R are ventilating the unit block and advise the community to only keep bedding on top of active electric blankets and avoid leaving them unattended.
