ACTSES responds to 124 calls for help

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has now received 124 requests for assistance over the weekend due to the wet weather.

The majority of jobs have been leaking roofs, collapsed ceilings due to water inundation and fallen trees. All six ACTSES units are responding to calls for help and are reduing the immediate risk of danger to residents and damage to homes. ACT Fire & Rescue is also providing assistance.

The public is reminded to stay well clear of storm drains, ponds, lakes and flooded cycleways. Call 132 500 for storm or flood assistance.
