Smoke across Canberra from ACT and NSW planned hazard reduction burns

The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) advises smoke visible across parts of Canberra and the ACT today is due to hazard reduction burns in southern ACT and across the border in NSW.

Strong winds are creating an increase in fire activity which is why residents are seeing an increase in smoke across the ACT.

Firefighters and aircraft are continuing efforts to manage these burns.
