Smoke from hazard reduction burns

Smoke is currently covering parts of the ACT as the result of two hazard reduction burns being conducted in the region.

The first, by the Territory and Municipal Services Directorate (TAMS), is at Kowen Forest and is expected to continue for a few days.

The ESA has also been notified of a second hazard reduction burn currently being conducted by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. The 382 hectare burn is located north of the Brindabella Valley at Waterfall Creek which is approximately 12 kilometres northwest of the ACT border.
