Private landholder to conduct hazard reduction burn at Namadgi today and over the weekend

A private landholder will today, Friday 29 August, 2014, and across the weekend, conduct a hazard reduction burn on a property next to the Namadgi Visitors Centre, south of Tharwa.

The hazard reduction burn will be carried out in open grass land.

Temporary smoke cover may occur.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
