ACT Rural Fire Service to assist in NSW fires

The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) has today received a formal request from the NSW Rural Fire Service to deploy 13 ACTRFS units, made up of 10 fire appliances and three command vehicles, to assist in firefighting operations in the Sydney basin.

Two strike teams of 25 firefighters each departed the ACT at 5.30pm for Penrith for up to a five day deployment made up of volunteer firefighters and crews from the Parks Brigade.
