ACT Fire & Rescue have extinguished a fire in a third floor unit in Strathgordon Court, Lyons.
The owners were not home at the time.
Neighbours were alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm sounding and the smell of smoke.
Neighbours contacted ACT Fire & Rescue by Triple Zero (000) who responded with two pumpers, a Breathing Apparatus Support Vehicle, the Hazardous Materials Unit and one Commander.
The fire was contained to the stovetop. ACT Fire & Rescue are currently ventilating the unit and will depart the scene shortly.
ACT Fire & Rescue remind the community "don't stop looking while you're cooking".
