Hazard reduction burn today Brindabella National Park

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will today, Friday 10 May, 2013, conduct an 800 hectare hazard reduction burn in Brindabella National Park 25 kilometres west of Canberra if forecasted conditions remain favourable.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is E13.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties
