Update two - ACTSES responds to storm damage

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received a total of 120 calls for help as a result of the storm activity across Canberra.

ACTSES volunteer units, ACT Fire & Rescue crews and TAMS staff are responding to the jobs.

ACT Fire & Rescue has also taken 60 automatic fire alarm calls across the city since the storm started this afternoon.

Extra ACT Fire & Rescue fire crews have been activated and additional resources brought in from NSW Fire Rescue Queanbeyan station to ensure fire and rescue coverage is maintained across the Territory.

TAMS advise a number of sets of traffics are offline due to power outages. Motorists are urged to take extra care when approaching and passing through intersections.
