Update six - 63 calls for help due to wet weather

The Bureau of Meteorology has just advised the ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) that the forecast remains for heavy rain to fall across the Territory from sunset today to sunrise tomorrow.

ACTSES units assisted by ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service continue to be on alert to respond to calls for help from the community on 132 500.

The ACTSES reminds parents to make sure your children do not go near floodways. Playing near stormwater drains or large bodies of water places your children at high risk of serious injury or death.

The ACTSES has now responded to a total of 63 calls for help since 3pm yesterday. Most of the calls today have come from the southside.
