Toddler accidently locks herself in car

ACT Fire Brigade and ACT Ambulance Service have attended to a female toddler who accidently locked herself inside a car at a residential parking spot in Pearce.

With her mother nearby, the toddler in her car seat was playing with a set of car keys when she accidently pressed the button and locked herself inside the car for a period of approx 20 minutes. Family members managed to open the door just before help arrived.

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics treated the toddler who was moderately affected by heat.

The ACT Ambulance Service would like to remind the community with oncoming warmer weather the dangers of modern car keyless locking devices in the hands of young children.
