Update - Structure Fire - Kingston

ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) crews have now completed firefighting operations at the structure fire on Burke Crescent, Kingston.
 
After evacuating occupants and extinguishing the fire, ACTF&R crews conducted thorough atmospheric monitoring, safety protocols and worked together with Evoenergy to ensure any potential electrical hazards were identified and made safe.
 
ACTF&R have allowed occupants of the apartment building to re-enter and have handed over the premises back to the associated body corporate property manager.
 
All ACTF&R crews have now departed the scene and Burke Crescent between Kennedy Street and Leichhardt Street, Kingston has re-opened.

Six ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) crews are in attendance of a structure fire on Burke Crescent between Kennedy Street and Leichhardt Street, Kingston.

Firefighters worked quickly to evacuate the apartment building and the fire has now been extinguished.

The fire is suspected to have started in a kitchen located on level three and minor damage was sustained to a single affected unit.

There are no reports of injuries.

ACTF&R crews are conducting final safety and ventilation checks before allowing occupants to return.

The community is asked to avoid the area.
