Update - Structure Fire - City

ACT Fire & Rescue crews have investigated the reported smell of smoke at a retail facility on Bunda St, City.

Hazardous Materials firefighters undertook atmospheric monitoring and have deemed the area safe.

The source of the fire is an electrical switchboard, which sustained damage. No further damage has been reported.

All occupants have now returned to the building and all roads in the area have reopened.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.

 

ACT Fire & Rescue is on scene at an electrical fire on Bunda Street, City.

Crews have responded to smoke emanating from a building at this location.

All occupants have self-evacuated, and the immediate shops have been closed until the area is deemed safe.

 Bunda Street between Akuna Street and Petrie Plaza has been closed.

Community is asked to avoid the area.
