Update - Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the ACT

As a result of the storms that eventuated this afternoon, the ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) and ACT Fire & Rescue are in the process of responding to approximately 45 calls for help.

 

The nature of these requests includes fallen trees, fallen powerlines and roof damage.

 

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) reminds the community that, if it is safe to do so, people should:

* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.

* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors.
