The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for heavy rainfall and large hailstones.
A moist and unstable airmass over much of the northeast and southeast of the state has caused severe thunderstorms to develop this afternoon. Severe thunderstorms are likely to be slow moving and may persist throughout the afternoon.

Move your car under cover and away from trees;
Secure or put away loose items;
Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines;

If you need support during storms and floods call the ACT State Emergency Service on 132 500.
The weather situation can change rapidly, check http://www.bom.gov.au/act/ for weather updates and warnings.
In a life-threatening emergency call Triple-Zero (000).
