The severe thunderstorm and flash flooding overnight has caused damage to Yarralumla Creek in the Curtin area.
The ACT SES and the City and Environment Directorate (CED) have been working closely to ensure the damaged areas around Canberra are safely cordoned off. SES crews have also been working to complete temporary repairs to buildings that have suffered damage overnight.
Due to the continued forecast heavy rain, please ensure you check weather conditions before heading out and take extra precautions while driving on our roads, using cycleways and pedestrian paths near waterways where flash flooding may occur.
If your property has suffered damage overnight, it is important that you contact your insurer, who can organise temporary repairs to make your property safe.
