In a life threatening emergency dial Triple Zero (000)
The official 2023-24 high-risk weather season for storm and bushfire in the ACT concludes this Sunday, 31 March 2024.
From Sunday, fire permits will no longer be required for urban and rural land holders wishing to conduct burns. Land holders are still asked to notify authorities if they plan to conduct burns. Penalties apply if fires are left unattended or escape containment.
Despite the end of the offical high-risk weather season emergencies can still occur and it is important the Canberra community are prepared all year round.
