Unattended cooking left on a stove top has caused the evacuation of up to ten residents from an apartment building in Macquarie.
ACT Fire & Rescue responded to the scene shortly before 9:00 pm. Up to four apartments are heavily smoke-logged.
Firefighters are currently assessing the damage and ventilating the building.
ACT ESA urge the community to never leave cooking unattended; "Don't stop looking while you're cooking".
