ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) will deploy 14 firefighters to assist Emergency Management Victoria with bushfires burning in the Victorian Gippsland region.
Firefighters will depart Thursday 7 March and will undertake firefighting operations from Friday 8 March before returning home on Monday 11 March.
Three ACTRFS heavy tankers and one command vehicle will also support the firefighting operations in Victoria.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency has supported Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria this bushfire season, and is prepared to provide further support into next week with the deployment of more crews if requested.
We wish our departing crews safe travels and thank them for their commitment and support.
