[media-alert type="image" id=30335]ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) will deploy ten firefighters to assist Emergency Management Victoria with bushfires burning near the township of Buchan.
Volunteer firefighters will undertake firefighting operations from Saturday 16 February before returning home on Wednesday 20 February.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency has supported Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria this bushfire season, and is prepared to provide further support into next week with the deployment of more crews if requested.
All assurances are made so that deployments do not impact on the level of fire protection to Canberra and the surrounding regions.
We wish our departing crews safe travels and thank them for their commitment and support.
