ACT Fire and Rescue were alerted to a fire in a multi-tenanted business complex on Napier Close, Deakin, at 7:41am this morning.
Crews arrived to find a fire on a couch that had been caused by a nearby lamp.
Fire fighters quickly extinguished the fire. There have been no injuries and no structural damage as a result of the fire.
Smoke caused by the fire has resulted in businesses who share the complex being evacuated while the ACT Fire and Rescue HAZMAT crew ventilate the premises.
Roads surrounding the area remain open.
