In a life threatening emergency dial Triple Zero (000)
At 5:09pm the Communication Centre received a E000 phone call to a house fire in Peron Place, Banks.
ACT Fire and Rescue fire fighters arrived to find a fire in the rear yard that had engulfed a tree overhanging the house.
The fire was quickly controlled with the support of quick thinking neighbours.
Fire fighters then spent some time checking the home for any sign of fire activity.
ACT Fire and Rescue would like to remind the community that in these hot and dry conditions fires can start easily, please be vigilant at home and out and about.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire and crews have now departed the scene.
