Update - Pierces Creek Bush/Grass fire - ADVICE

The fire at Pierces Creek remains contained at 204 hectares, 7km away from the nearest suburb (Kambah). The ACT Emergency Services Agency advises the community that the current alert level for this fire remains at ADVICE. Ground crews from ACT Rural Fire Service will continue to patrol and monitor the fire ground for hotspots overnight. Crews will continue firefighting operations and rehabilitation throughout the week. The Fire Danger Rating for tomorrow remains HIGH with north-westerly winds expected. Weather conditions are forecasted to remain favourable for firefighting efforts, with rain expected over Tuesday and Wednesday. Smoke may continue to drift across the ACT in the coming days. People with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the dust or smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
