Update - Pierces Creek Bush/Grass fire - WATCH AND ACT

No evacuations have been ordered for residents, horses or other animals. There is currently no threat to property. The ACT Emergency Services Agency advises the community the current alert level is WATCH AND ACT. This means that conditions are changeable and you should consider how you to protect you and your family if the fire were to spread. The Pierce Creek fire is still located 8kms from the nearest suburb. This is unchanged from 6am today (2 November 2018). A map of the fire is available at www.esa.act.gov.au Doorknocking to between 400 and 700 homes along the urban fringe from Kambah to Gordon is an education activity. Emergency personnel are conducting this exercise to educate people about what the fire threat alert levels mean, their current bushfire plan and what materials are available to them via www.esa.act.gov.au.
