ACT Rural Fire Service will conduct a hazard reduction burn tonight, Thursday 16 August 2018.
Dependent on suitable weather and fuel moisture conditions the burn will be undertaken at 540 Pialligo Avenue, Majura, (near Fairbairn Pines) from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. The total size of the burn is nine hectares.
Fire tankers and support vehicles will remain onsite for the duration of the burn, departing once the burn area has been deemed blacked out.
The aim of the burn is to reduce the biomass of invasive African Lovegrass and to improve ecosystem health.
