ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service will conduct a hazard reduction burn in bushland between Adelaide Avenue and State Circle adjacent to Parliament House and the US Embassy from 10:00am to 4:00pm Saturday 21 April 2018.
Dependent on suitable weather and fuel moisture conditions the total burn area is approximately four hectares.
Fire tankers, pumpers, and three support vehicles will remain on site for the duration of the burn, departing once the burn area has been deemed blacked out.
The burn will reduce fire fuel loads to protect our community and improve ecosystem health.
For information on all active burns in the ACT please check the ESA Incidents Map on the ESA website.
