ACT Rural Fire Service assisting in NSW

The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) has deployed a 14-person strike team to assist its NSW counterparts in fighting a large bushfire at Boro, east of Lake George.

Five medium tankers and a group command vehicle departed the ACT Emergency Services Agency headquarters in Fairbairn around 11am today.

Conditions permitting, they are expected to return home this evening, having assisted the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) in bringing the nearly 500 hectare fire under control.
