ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) have attended a kitchen fire at a property on Flemington Road in Franklin.
Crews were alerted to the incident via a call to Emergency Triple Zero (000) just after 10:33pm.
Occupants of the property partially extinguished the fire before the three occupants self evacuated.
Firefighters fully extinguished the fire after arriving on scene and then removed parts of the range hood and roof space to check for hot spots.
Firefighters are now ventilating the property while waiting for Hazmat to arrive and conduct atmospheric monitoring.
Paramedics assessed one 24 year old male on scene however no transfer to hospital was required.
The cause of the fire was from food which caught alight on the stovetop. ACTF&R is reminding all residents 'don't stop looking while you're cooking'.
