Hazard Reduction burn tomorrow at Brindabella National Park, NSW

The ACT Rural Fire Service will tomorrow, Friday 13 March, 2015, weather permitting, assist the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service at a hazard reduction burn at Pig Hill, Brindabella National Park, near Uriarra in NSW.

The burn will be approximately 300 hectares.

More information on the burn can be found at http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/media/OEHMedia15031102.htm

Temporary smoke cover may occur over parts of the ACT. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
