Update four - ADVICE - Pierces Creek grass fire

The ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue are working to extinguish a grass fire burning at Pierces Creek.

The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for this fire has been set at ADVICE.

The ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue has 13 units on scene.

The fire is located near Settlement Road and is burning in a south-westerly direction.

The fire is approximately 750 metres x 500 metres in size and is under control.

The south-east flank of the fire has been knocked down with the eastern and northern side contained.

Crews will commence the large task of mopping up operations soon.

A bulldozer will also be used to assist tanker access and the construction of containment lines to facilitate mopping up operations.
