ACTSES receive 14 calls for help following windy weather

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received a total of 14 calls for help following todays strong winds.

ACTSES volunteers and ACT Fire & Rescue crews are responding with minor damage reported from trees and branches across roads and pathways.

Some more extensive damage to three houses and some vehicles.

Areas affected include Belconnen, Kambah and Weston Creek.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds.

Winds are forecast to reach around 60 to 70km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 110km/h.

Residents who require storm or flood assistance can call the ACTSES on 132-500.
