The ACT Territory and Municipal Services Directorate (TAMS) will today, Wednesday 20 March, 2013, weather permitting, conduct three controlled burns at Evatt, Forde and Fadden.

The Evatt burn, adjacent to Croke Place is approximately one hectare in size. The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is J10.

The Forde burn, adjacent to Old Gundaroo Road and Mulligans Flat Road is approximately 30 hectares in size. The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is L9.

The Fadden burn, adjacent to Coyen Street is approximately eight hectares in size. The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is K15.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
