Update – response to storm damage

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has now received 178 requests for assistance as a result of last night’s storm activity. There are 35 jobs currently outstanding. Personnel from ACT Fire & Rescue, ACT Rural Fire Service, Parks and Conservation and Transport Canberra and City Services have assisted the ACTSES in responding to the requests.

Damaging winds impacting ACT

Damaging winds are currently impacting the ACT. The ACT State Emergency Service is advising Canberra residents not to stand or park their vehicles under trees and to stay away from fallen power lines. Any loose items should be put away and tied down until the storm has passed.
