The source of the smell has been confirmed as chlorine granules. Air monitoring was conducted before people evacuated from nearby buildings were permitted back inside. ACT Fire & Rescue has left the scene.

Firefighters have found the source of the smoke. It was produced by an electrical fault. The HAZMAT unit is on scene conducting atmospheric monitoring. Occupants will be allowed back into the building shortly.
An office building in Civic has been evacuated following reports of smoke in the building. ACT Fire & Rescue has three fire trucks and command on scene in Moore Street. Firefighters are currently inside the building searching for any signs of smoke and fire.
