Bruce retirement village fire extinguished

A small fire inside a retirement facility in Bruce has been quickly extinguished. ACT Fire & Rescue was alerted to the incident at the Calvary Retirement Village on Jaegar Corcuit at 4:21pm. Update – Garage fire in Dunlop

The fire has now been extinguished. Quick work from ACT Fire & Rescue has ensured that damage was contained to the garage and did not extend into the house. Garage fire in Dunlop

ACT Fire & Rescue is working to extinguish a garage fire in Dunlop. Crews were alerted to the incident on Thornhill Crescent at 2.52am and responded with three fire pumpers, breathing apparatus support and two commander vehicles. Prescribed burn at Kowen Forest

The ACT Parks and Conservation Service is conducting a prescribed burn today at Kowen Forest. The burn will cover a number of piles of forest debris in three distinct areas totalling 250 hectares and will take a day or two to complete. Temporary smoke cover is expected across Canberra.
