Units

There are seven SES Units across the ACT. Their locations are shown below.

Majura Unit

Majura SES Unit

Holtze Close, Hackett

Is located in the north east corner of Canberra. The functions of this Unit are storm response, support to land searches, logistical support and flood boat support for various operations and community events.

Gungahlin Unit

Gungahlin SES UnitCnr Anthoy Rolfe Ave & Gozzard St, Gungahlin

The functions of this Unit are storm response, support to land searches, logistical support for various operations, community events.

Belconnen Unit

Belconnen SES Unit4 Egan Court, Belconnen

The functions of this Unit are storm response, support to land searches, logistical support and they crew the lighting tower for various operations and community events. This Unit currently crews the mobile cattle trailer in support of Department of Agriculture events.

Woden Unit

Woden SES Unit54 Parramatta Street, Phillip

The functions of this Unit are storm response, support to land searches, logistical support for various operations, community events, this Unit also crews the Lighting Trailer and the Medical Support Trailer.

Rivers Unit

Rivers SES UnitCotter Rd, Stromlo

The functions of this Unit are storm response, support to land searches, logistical support for various operations and community events.

Tuggeranong Unit

Tuggeranong SES Unit364 Reed St, Greenway

Is our most southern Unit. The functions of this Unit are storm response, support to land searches, logistical support and flood boat support for various operations and community events.

Pialligo Unit

Pialligo SES Unit17 Amberley Avenue, Fairbairn

  •  Manage the SES Operations Centre;
  • Communications support, including operating of the Forward Communications Unit (FCU);
  • Coordinate and assist the Incident Management Team (IMT);
  • Maintain TRN radios ready for operational use by the Services of the ESA;
  • Logistical support; and
  • Provide support to community events.

Community education team

The ACTSES has recently established a Community Education Team. The team is responsible for developing educational material and to delivering community education presentations and discussions to the ACT community on behalf of the ACTSES. Such presentations may be made to special interest groups, schools and college students, members of the various Community Councils, and other groups as identified.

The Community Education Team also attend displays at shopping centres, employment fairs, festivals and fetes, and at other places identified as an opportunity to educate the community about any aspect of ACTSES business. The Community Education Team is aligned with the Pialligo Unit.
