ACT RURAL FIRE SERVICE ALWAYS ON DUTY

Volunteer ACT Rural Fire Service (ACT RFS) members acted quickly this afternoon when a member of the public went into cardiac arrest at Chisolm shops.

The Guises Creek Brigade crew happened to be in the vicinity at the time and didn’t hesitate to act, performing CPR and using one of the AED’s that is carried by all ACT RFS vehicles.

This quick thinking and use of skills was the difference between life and death for the individual, who was stabilised by ACT Ambulance paramedics and transported to hospital.
