ACT Ambulance Service paramedic takes top spot at the National Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards

Intensive care paramedic, Susith Adikari, was the National Winner at Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards in a ceremony at Government House yesterday.

Susith has been a paramedic with ACT Ambulance Service (ACTAS) for 13 years and was nominated for his altruistic commitment to protecting the community - notably during the British Columbia Bushfires (Canada) in 2017 and more recently, the 2019-20 bushfire season in Canberra.

Along with his duty as a paramedic with the ACT Ambulance Service, Susith is passionate about disseminating the wealth of knowledge and experience he has acquired over the years to help develop the next crop of graduate paramedics for ACT.

The National Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards is an initiative of the Rotary Districts and Clubs of NSW and ACT, which aims to acknowledge and celebrate selfless Community Service of Emergency Services personnel.

We’re proud to have dedicated first responders like Susith in our community
