The fire has been contained to the two storey unit with visible flames now extinguished. Quick work by firefighters also prevented it from spreading to adjoining units.
The unit has been totally destroyed with fire crews starting to extinguish hot spots and begin ventilating smoke from the unit.
ACT Fire & Rescue was alerted to the incident by multiple Emergency Triple Zero (000).
The sole female occupant had safely self evacuated when the first fire truck arrived. She has been assessed at the scene by the ACT Ambulance Service but is uninjured.
The cause is unkown at this early stage but will be investigated.
