Hotel fire forces evacuation

35 rooms of a South Canberra hotel has been evacuated tonight following a fire.

ACT Fire & Rescue was altered to the incident in Goyder Street Narrabundah at 10:44pm.

Firefighters arrived a short time later to discover a fire had occurred in the laundry of one of the accommodation wings of the hotel.

The fire sent smoke throughout that section of the facility. Fire crews have commenced ventilating the affected area.

The cause will be investigated.
