The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) has announced that Tharwa Drive will re-open today by 4pm, Tuesday 13 January, 2015 for normal traffic before the peak hour commute gets underway.
Minor road works will be finalised over the coming days, but these will be undertaken outside of peak hour traffic periods.
The ESA acknowledges frustration and delays experienced by residents of the Lanyon Valley over the past nine days and would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while this necessary work was carried out to help deliver a new Fire & Rescue station to serve and protect the community.
The ESA also appreciates the efforts of the contractor undertaking the installation of the sewer main to finalise this work ahead of schedule and the traffic control marshals who diligently carried out their work over long hours in difficult circumstances.
