ACT sends help to fight fires in NSW

The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) has today received a formal request from the NSW Rural Fire Service to deploy personnel to assist in fighting fires in the Tumut region.

35 personnel from the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) made up of firefighters from the ACTRFS including volunteers and staff from the Parks Brigade left the ACT this afternoon for the Tumut region for a five day deployment. The Tumut strike teams also include support personnel from the ACT State Emergency Service, ESA mechanics and ESA Mapping and Planning Support (MAPS) Volunteers.

They are expected back on Thursday.
