ACT ESA continue to support firefighting operations in surrounding region

The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) will continue to support firefighting operations in the surrounding region over the coming days.

Six units and two officers from the ACT Rural Fire Service will tomorrow afternoon begin a three day deployment to assist the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) in fire operations near Cooma, NSW. This is in addition to the strike team sent yesterday for a five day deployment near Yass of seven medium tankers.

Today, ACT Fire & Rescue crews deployed three units to the Kybeyan Valley near Cooma to assist Fire & Rescue NSW in property protection during firefighting efforts at the Yarrabin fire.

Two ACT ESA specialist mapping volunteers have also been deployed to Cooma to assist the NSWRFS.
