Small number of hot spots identified in Namadgi National Park

A reconnaissance flight using heat sensing radar over Namadgi National Park has been completed this morning by the ACT Rural Fire Service with only a small number of hot spots identified.

Only 12 hot spots have been found by infrared detectors within the containment lines at Mount Ginini, none at Rendezvous Creek and four at Sentry Box.

60 k's per hour winds forecast overnight with gusts up to 100k's per hour did not eventuate. The Bureau of Meteorology expected north westerly winds to pick to up to 80 kilometres per hour by mid morning and continue throughout the day.

No other fires have been reported in the ACT at this time.
