Update three on residential structure fire in Melba

The man who rescued a dog from the residential fire in Melba was an off duty ACT Fire-fighter, who lived in a neighborring property.

9 week old Sebastian, a Shih Tzu-cross puppy, was rescued by the off duty Fire-fighter shortly after he reported the blaze to Emergency Triple Zero (000).

Sebastian (the puppy) was treated by ACT Ambulance Service Intensive Care Paramedics. He received rescue treatment oxygen before being deemed to be in a healthy condition.

ACT Fire & Rescue have commended the off duty Fire-fighter for his commitment to helping his community and his bravery for rescuing the young pup.
