Six calls for help following storms

The ACT State Emergency Service has received six calls for help from the public as a result of today's storm activity.

ACT SES volunteers and ACT Fire and Rescue crews have responded to trees and branches across roads and pathways and leaking roofs.

Minor damage reported.

Areas affected include Monash, Gilmore, Fadden and Watson.

As a result of the lightning strikes and storm activity some fire alarms have been activated in premises with some minor flooding. No fires were reported at those premises.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning across all areas of the ACT for the next two hours. Residents who require assistance can call the ACTSES on 132-500.
