The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) in conjunction with the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS), are conducting a hazard reduction burn today till 4pm, Saturday 13 August, 2011, weather permitting at Ingledene, approx 15km south of Tharwa on Smiths Road in NSW.
The purpose of the burn is to reduce a fire hazard with the removal of accumulated fuel, and will be a joint operation with the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Seven tankers and 40 personnel will conduct the burn covering a total area of approx 44 hectares.
